Mitchell to Sisters

Up and at 'em!

First, we climbed uphill through beautiful countryside - we were back in the forests again and it felt wonderful. And, at last - the summit - and food, of course. Then off we went across the countryside to Prineville and lunch. Still ranch country, but it seemed less arid and we could tell that we were headed for the Cascades.

 
After lunch we pedaled onward (and westward) to Smith Rock State Park. Truly awe-inspiring, it was hard to realize that those little dots were actually people on the Rock. It was time to dig out the camera again!

And then steadily westward toward Sisters - green grass, trees, and a great feeling of accomplishment!
